  • Waiting

    So.....

It looks like God has us on the move again. We are waiting for a job offer from Austin, Tx. Tomorrow (monday) may just be the day.

We are feeling God's call to simplify our lives and get all of our debt paid off so we can make a better contribution towards world missions, whatever it may be. While we feel called to a service role long term, it seems he may be putting us in more of a giving position at this point. It is just too freaking expensive to live here in Oregon. This house would cost about $100k less in Texas and Jack would be getting paid quite a bit more. It feels like the right thing overall, not just a logical choice. We're pretty dang sure that He is in this. Waiting is killer. One way or the other, we've taken steps towards selling this place.

Prayers, overall, are appreciated. Don't pray for patience though... I don't want that ;)

  • Flu

I have the flu. The doctor said it was probably H1N1 (swine flu). They aren't testing anymore, so we'll never know. Apparently its just not as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Even so, its still the flu. Needless to say, I'm absolutely miserable. Hopefully the Tamiflu helps. A $60 copay for medicine that doesn't help would really stink.

I wish some of you were around. I know you'd be the nice neighbor to bring me groceries or chicken noodle soup while my whole family is quarantined.

Speaking of, I'm not supposed to have any daycare kids here for a whole week. That is inconvenient on so many levels. When has being sick ever been convenient?

Hey... I had the urge to blog. Maybe I'll get on here more than once every 6 months. I just realized that I never showed any of Lucy's 3rd bday. Mabel is about to be 5... its gonna be big. I don't do big parties, so this should be interesting.

But for now, back to my misery.
